WHAT IS SPARKLING COCONUT WATER?
Coconut water has been around forever.
Sparkling coconut water is a different story.
It’s exactly what it sounds like: coconut water with carbonation. But that small change creates a completely different drinking experience.
First, what is coconut water?
Coconut water is the naturally occurring liquid inside young, green coconuts.
It’s naturally refreshing, lightly sweet and contains minerals including potassium and magnesium.
For decades, coconut water has mostly been sold as a still drink—often in cartons or bottles, usually positioned around natural refreshment and hydration.
We wondered what would happen if you treated it more like a modern soft drink. So we added bubbles.
Why add carbonation?
Because bubbles change everything.
Carbonation makes a drink feel lighter, brighter and more refreshing. It also creates a completely different occasion for coconut water.
Instead of something you reach for only when you’re thinking about hydration, sparkling coconut water can sit comfortably alongside a meal, after a class, at a café, on the beach or whenever you want something cold and refreshing.
That’s where we see the opportunity.
Coconut water doesn’t have to look or taste like a traditional health drink.
Sparkling, but still coconut water
The challenge is keeping the coconut water at the centre.
Too much flavour and the coconut disappears.
Too much sweetness and it becomes another soft drink.
Too many added ingredients and you lose the simplicity that makes coconut water interesting in the first place.
At Hydrate, we use coconut water as the foundation and combine it with real fruit flavours, electrolytes and carbonation.
The result is crisp, lightly fizzy and refreshing, with coconut water still at the heart of it.
What about the electrolytes?
Coconut water naturally contains electrolytes.
Hydrate goes a step further by adding electrolytes such as magnesium and sea salt to the formulation.
The idea isn’t to make hydration feel more complicated.
It’s to create a drink that brings together the things we think matter:
Good ingredients. Great taste. A refreshing drinking experience.
A different kind of hydration drink
We don’t think hydration needs to belong exclusively to gyms, running tracks or sports bags.
Some of life’s best moments have nothing to do with a workout.
Before the next wave.
After a long day.
On a hot afternoon.
Between two breaths.
Those are the moments Hydrate was made for.
So, is sparkling coconut water the next coconut water?
Maybe.
But we’re less interested in defining the category than we are in making it worth drinking.
